The Nature of A Writer.

There are many worlds around us in books created by writers , for that is the nature of a writer, to create something where there was nothing. There are many worlds and even universes found in books.

As a writer we have a duty to entertain the people and tell a good story. Some stories may span years are even generations. There are no limits to what a writer can do in Literature.

Just look at the ancients, people like Homer’s The Iliad and Odyssey. Two Epic Fantasies written a long time ago. Sure future writers may have rewrote The Iliad and The Odyssey and gave us the Prose Version of these two Epic Tales.

Truthfully I prefer the Prose Versions. Sure they take longer to read and you can write and tell a longer tale in a Prose than a Verse tale. Both are equally important to Literature.

Without Verse, we wouldn’t have the many great tales and Writers that we love and enjoy today. If it wasn’t for the great Poets of old we would not have the great works we enjoy today.

It was Merry Shelly who invented the Science Fiction Genre. So, all you Star Trek and Star Wars lovers, you can thank Merry Shelly for her contribution to Literature making it possible for you to dress up as your favorite character or have Light Saber battles.

Fantasy was invented by writers like Homer and the Writer of Beowulf considered one of the oldest Works of Literature in the English Language.

Literature has inspired, intrigued and entertained us, with tales of love, romance and adventure. Most people don’t consider where Literature comes from or the History of Literature.

We must study Literature to understand where our books come and what it takes to write an epic tale.

Sadly there are those who could care less about Literature, where Literature comes from or what it takes to write an epic tale. They will even take a failing grade in school then read a great Work of Literature.

Parents, and Schools are not teaching students about the Importance of Literature or what lessons they can teach us. H. G. Wells revealed the horror of a Society where we deevolved into a more primitive state where Humanity feared their own shadows. And a Work of Shakespeare crumbled to dust it was so old and unread.

This is the Horrors we face if we forget our Origins and what makes us, us. Don’t forget the Great Works of the Past. Delphi Classics on Amazon has some of the Greatest selections of Authors and Literary Masters to choose from.

Make it fun for your children to choose to read a great Work of Literature and reward them when they read one of these great Works. Don’t let us, Descend into Darkness.
