I started writing in January 2001. The thing is I never learned how to write in school. The last Grade I completed was the third grade, so what led me to start writing?
Well it all started when I was seven or eight. I use to live Fantasies in my mind. I did it to cope with my Mental Illness. I preferred to be alone and allowed to think.
Let’s face it, I am an avid thinker. How else could someone focus on writing 30+ different stories at one time and got get them mixed up.
I started reading obsessively around twelve, it started with Star Trek. That’s right everyone I am a Star Trek fan. It wasn’t until I was eighteen back in the year 1998 that I found books about dragons.
When I found Dragon Lance I stared thinking of starting to write stories of my own creation. 2001 is when I created my World of Six Moons and started writing my first novel.
Immediately, I noticed that my mind started overloading with stories. Now I have hundreds and I do mean hundreds of stories started and in the works.
It would be another sixteen years before I published Night Stalkers my first novel under the Pin Name J. C. Jenkins. It is supposed to be under the Name J. C. Jenkins Jr. But who’s complaining.
A year later I published my second book titled Collective Works Vol. 1 By J. C. Jenkins Jr. All future books will be under the Pin Name J. C. Jenkins Jr. You can find me on Amazon or simply by Googling J. C. Jenkins Jr.
If it wasn’t for Page Publishing I would still be looking for a publisher. I owe a lot to Page Publishing.
My point is, don’t give up on your Dreams. You never know just what your Gifts are. It may take decades before your Gifts see the light of day. You only fail when you give up.
You can do anything you set your mind to. Keep working at your Gifts and be patient.
One day you may find success, it may not even be in your lifetime. It’s what you leave behind that really counts.
